Poco X3 Review
Despite the hefty price tag, the Poco X3 offers excellent gaming performance, making it one of the most potent budget phones on the market. It’s a serious competitor to the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 7 Pro.
The Poco X3 is powered by the Snapdragon 732G and has 6GB or 8GB of RAM, depending on your chosen variant. The powerful combination gives the Poco X3 good responsiveness in everyday use.
Camera
The Poco X3 has four cameras at the rear, accompanied by a 20MP front-facing camera. A two-megapixel depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens complement these.
The primary camera is a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor. This isn’t as prestigious as the Samsung GM1 unit found in some budget Androids, but it does pack detail and does well in challenging scenes – thanks to software tweaks.
Daytime photos are bright and detailed, with good contrast and dynamic range. With Pro color and AI mode disabled, colors look natural, and the images aren’t over-saturated or noisy.
Battery
The Poco X3 is a powerful phone. It has a large 5160mAh battery and a Snapdragon 732G processor that pairs well with 6GB of RAM.
The screen is a 6.67-inch Dot Display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass protection. It also supports HDR10.
It has a side-loaded fingerprint scanner that’s not the fastest, but it works every time. It also has NFC, used for wireless payments, and a headphone jack.
The gaming performance is decent, too. It’s got a solid 2,530 points in Geekbench 5.
We’re not blown away by the graphics, but it’s good enough for games like Fortnite. It’s got a sluggish frame rate, but it can stick to 30fps in 60fps mode in Epic games.
It’s also a suitable value-for-money device. It offers NFC, IP53 water resistance, and reasonable speakers for a $200-ish device. It also comes with an IR blaster, making it more versatile than other smartphones in its price range.
Performance
The Poco X3 isn’t a gorgeous smartphone, but it offers some of the best performance in its class. You’ll also find a great camera and a great battery life.
The Snapdragon 860 is the chip at this phone’s heart, making it an excellent value for money. It’s a 7nm processor that trumps phones that cost twice as much, and it’s undoubtedly one of the best budget chipsets you can get your hands on.
The Poco X3 has a large 6.67-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD that sports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch-sampling rate. The former helps you browse the interface and ensures gaming is a pleasant experience.
Design
The Poco X3 is the latest smartphone in the Poco X series and has a beautiful design. It has a symmetrical rear and a notch for the selfie camera.
It also has a fingerprint scanner and a power button on the side. It also features a speaker grille.
In addition to the new looks, the Poco X3 has a more robust build and comes with IP53-rated dust and water resistance. It’s a nice touch and should make the phone more resistant to drops and spills.
The front panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It also has a textured back, and the rear is covered in an all-metal-looking frame with a circle encircling the camera.
